Problem
Doris and Jose loved their backyard, but their large lawn had become a source of frustration rather than relaxation. A fungal infection had left the grass unsightly, and the sheer amount of maintenance needed to combat the issue was no longer sustainable for them. They contacted us to help them transition away from a traditional lawn toward a more manageable, beautiful landscape they could truly enjoy.
Solution
We partnered with Doris and Jose to transition their 1/4-acre backyard from a struggling, water-intensive lawn into a sustainable xeriscape. Our team designed a custom landscape featuring organic berms, crushed stone pathways, and a variety of rock textures to add immediate visual interest. We carefully selected a palette of hardy, drought-resistant native grasses and trees that provide year-round color and dimension while significantly reducing irrigation needs. The result is a stunning, low-maintenance vista that allows the homeowners to enjoy their outdoor space without the burden of constant upkeep.

We reached out to Mountain West Landscapes in 2023 for a landscape solution to our 1/4 acre backyard. The grass was dying from a fungus.
